LG Targets European Consumers with One-hour video Recording VOD Camcorder Phone

Seoul, Korea, October 15, 2003 - LG Electronics (LGE) has started active promotion of
its camcorder phone in Europe, introducing it to European consumers at ITU Telecom
World 2003. The phone, already popular in Korea, has a built-in camcorder with
a one-hour recording capacity.

At ITU Telecom World 2003, held in Geneva from the 12th to 18th of October,
LGE (Vice Chairman and CEO S.S.Kim / www.lge.com) will be exhibiting its
LG VOD camcorder phone, which has 96Mbyte storage, a one hour video recording
and playing function and also provides a variety of high-tech VOD/AOD services.

At ITU Telecom World 2003, held in Geneva from the 12th to 18th of October,
LGE will be exhibiting its LG VOD camcorder phone, which has 96Mbyte storage,
a one hour video recording and playing function and also provides a variety
of high-tech VOD/AOD services.

The most eye-catching feature of the model is that it enables non-stop, one
hour video recording. An additional 64Mbyte flash memory has been added to
the conventional single storage system, to support VOD and video files.

Mr. Chris Ho, Vice President of LGE's GSM Marketing Team said, "The essence
of this product is that it represents the new lifestyle LG presents to the
consumers, by overcoming the time restrictions of
conventional camera and video phones." He added: "I expect camcorder phones
to stimulate the 3G market in Europe as the hot new application."

The new model also overcomes the inconveniences found in older video phone
models by coming equipped with a variety of special shooting functions that
were previously available only in digital camcorders, including,
"4X zoom", "five step lightness control", "black-and-white shooting",
"image reverse", "mute recording" etc.

The handset user will also have access to upgraded VOD/AOD services, as the
product provides smooth downloading and real-time streaming services for
VOD/AOD contents through a separate video/MPEG4 chip.

Mr. Kenn (Kie Hong) Suh, Executive Vice President of LGE's Overseas Marketing
Division said, "The product was successfully rolled out in the Korean market,
where there is fierce competition in the newest mobile handset technologies.
We intend to market this handset worldwide, and Europe is the starting point
for our approach." He continued, "We will closely monitor European consumers
response to the product during the show, and will accordingly review the
camcorder phones launch in Europe, possibly early next year."

The President and CEO of LGEs Telecommunication equipment and handset company, Mr. James Kim added, This model has received some very remarkable evaluations in Korea, so we think it is a product that is competitive enough to threaten
the existing camcorder market. LG intends to strengthen its high quality
image with the product leadership this cutting edge model provides us."
