Seoul, Korea, October 14, 2003 - LG Electronics (LGE) today revealed the brand new GPRS colour camera handsets - the swivel type LG-G7100 and the slide-down type LG-G7050 - with which it will target the European premium market.
On show at the ITU Telecom World 2003 in Geneva, LGE (Vice Chairman and CEO S.S.Kim /www.lge.com) G7100 is a 270-degree rotating handset with a built-in flash camera, 65,000 colours STN LCD, 32 polyphonic ringer, JAVA function, and Internet accessibility. These functions enable users to
download a variety of software applications, such as games and wallpaper.
Its eye-catching OELD (Organic Electro Luminescent Display) exterior display window is expected to be a particularly strong attraction for sophisticated European consumers.
The G7100 is available at shops in the UK and France through its partnership with Orange, and sales will later be expanded to other Western European nations.
G7050, the slide-down type model, is another cutting-edge GPRS colour camera handset with a 65,000 colour STN LCD, 40 polyphonic ringer, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) capability, a WAP browser, and voice recording/dialing functions. LGE will market the G7050 in Europe as soon as the company finalizes its distribution scheme with European operators.
