Seoul, Korea, August 28, 2003-LG Electronics(LGE)[Korea Stock Exchange:6657.KS] will showcase the world’s finest products in IFA 2003 (Internationale Funkausstellung), the world’s largest multimedia show to be held in Berlin, Germany from August 29 to September 3. Devices to watch out for include PDP, LCD TV and home networking devices.
By installing a large stage at the center of the show booth, the company will feature home networking system and allow movie actors to demonstrate freely through the home server and mobile phones the operation of various sophisticated digital home appliances guaranteed to wow viewers.
Another surefire crowd drawer is the large multi-screen consisting of 24 50-inch PDP TVs, which will be used by LGE(Chairman and CEO John Koo/www.lge.com) to display videos and game shows explaining its home networking system.
Out to prove once again that they are the world’s No. 1 in large LCD products, LG will showcase the largest product lineup from small and medium products with sizes 13”, 15”, 17”, 20”, 23”to super-large products with sizes 30”, 42”, and 52.
The company will also unveil its full product lineup consisting of the world’s largest 71-inch PDP TV including 42-, 50-, and 60-inch TVs, featuring the largest number of PDP TVs by size among the participating companies in the show; thus solidifying its reputation as a world leader in PDP products.
In particular, LGE will be introducing the 71-inch PDP TV to the European market. With thickness of 89mm, the product is expected to draw many buyers. The 71-inch PDP TV also boasts of the world’s highest definition, which is twice that of existing PDP TVs.
In the show that advances the era of ubiquitous networking, the company is set to unveil its telematics system. Unlike the automotive navigation system, the LGE telematics system features car infotainment that enables Internet and mobile functions in the car, intelligent navigation for receiving traffic information in real time, and entertainment functions including CD and DVD players.
